VISIT PORT MACQUARIE MUSEUM

Located on the Mid North Coast of NSW on Birpai Country, in the heart of Port Macquarie's CBD, Port Macquarie Museum and historic Store building c1830 tell the stories of those who have come before us and what makes Port Macquarie special. . Home to the Birpai People, Port Macquarie (Guruk) was once a British penal settlement and is now a popular tourist and sea-change destination. We have been sharing Port Macquarie's stories since 1957.

TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT: 

  • Allow plenty of time, Port Macquarie Museum is larger than it looks. There are over 2,000 objects on display at any time. 
  • Comprising several rooms and galleries, we recommend you allow up to an hour for your visit. 
  • Exhibits are regularly changed so that we can share more of our over 20,000 collection items and local stories with you.

Admission fees apply and help us to care for our collections and State heritage listed building. Our admission fees are:
