Port Macquarie Museum is an independent community museum owned and operated by the Port Macquarie Historical Society.
The Museum operates without any recurrent government funding and relies on the support of its members, volunteers, donors and partner organisations to carry out its work of collecting, preserving, interpreting and sharing the history and culture of Port Macquarie and the Hastings Region of NSW, including caring for its State significant Store building.
Our work is never ending and our aspirations are high. Becoming a member and/or donating to our organisation will not only support our vision and mission, it will bring our local stories to life and make them accessible for all.
Becoming a member provides you with benefits including unlimited museum entry, invitations to special events such as exhibition openings and history talks, and a regular e-newsletter.
Your membership supports our work of documenting, sharing and preserving local history and advocating for local heritage protections. Individual membership costs are $20 per year (July to June).
Your valued donation helps us to care for our State significant Store building c1836, develop and protect our significant collection of cultural materials, and deliver meaningful and memorable cultural programs and experiences, including First Nations and education programs.
Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Conservation of our historic Store building is our current priority.
