About the Port MaCquarie Museum

Our award winning Museum tells the stories of those who have come before us and what makes our town special, from our beginnings as a British penal settlement through to the popular tourist and sea-change destination we are today. Operated by the Port Macquarie Historical Society and its team of volunteers, the Port Macquarie Museum has been revealing Port Macquarie's stories since 1957.

TIPS FOR YOUR VISIT:

  • Allow plenty of time for your visit as our museum is much larger than it looks.
  • Comprising 14 rooms and galleries, most visitors are pleasantly surprised once they step inside. We recommend you allow at least an hour for your visit.
  • Exhibits are regularly updated and changed, so if you have visited before, you might like to visit again!
